Battle Using Your War Binder

Having a War Binder was never on my mind. It never crossed my mind. I honestly never heard of a war binder until I saw the movie War Room. Gosh that movie is so inspirational and puts a fire in me each time I see it. I laugh so hard though when Mrs. Clara comes out. Reason behind that, well one night when we watched it my brother came over, he laughed and told me, “You are just like Mrs. Clara.” I gave him a look and thought to myself, “hmm I hope thats a good thing” (and laughed inside). But when I saw she had a battle plan strategy, she had verses lined out and prayers for each person for each occasion I wanted to do the same. I have a 1.5″ 3 ring binder that is also my war binder but more in detail. I wanted something to take along with me in my purse to church or anywhere I go. This is where I ended up making the Websters Travelers Notebook as my war binder.

I love Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I can literally be in there all day if I could, I love crafting. This is where I found my “war binder” then used my 40% coupon to save more on it, win win! I then grabbed me some inserts to add into the travelers notebook. Used my coupon on those too. Heck I’m all about saving when I can! I grabbed be those .40 crafting scrapbook papers to create a more creative look on the inserts since mine were plain Jane. I personally wanted my own touch. Each insert is a section I divided to section up and write. For instance, when I first open the war binder it is my Bible Study Section. If I’m doing a bible study I will jot them down here and write what speaks loud to me. I like having a photo of my family right when I open my war binder. Just reminds me of what to look forward to each day I wake up.

The second insert is the Scripture Writing. Each scripture that I write has been spoken to me and means something to me within that season. Even verses that stood out to me that I need to dig deeper on. In the scripture section I like to memorize them to help retrain my thoughts. Because we all know the past tries to creep back in, but thats when scripture backs it up 😉

The third insert is what I call the Prayer section. I write out all my prayers for my walk with the Lord, my heart, attitudes, my spouse, my children and prayers for my extended family and friends. Any prayer requests, its all laid out in this section. I even apply verses along with prayer, when verses are applied to prayers your getting somewhere! Your getting your battle on! Praying scripture is powerful! If you haven’t tried it, I challenge you to do so, see how life changing it can be.

Don’t worry if you don’t pray that kind of way, there really is no right or wrong way to pray. God just wants you, the real you. He hears you and knows your heart. He knows what your thinking and about to say, just be YOUrself with our wonderful graceful loving father. I didn’t pray with scripture before until I had some serious battles going on two years ago. I wanted things to shift and change in a way that only God could do. The SuperNatural. Let me tell you real quick, doing that, praying scripture over those situations I faced and went through, I see now what prayer can do with scripture. I see how He had changed me. Do you want a powerful prayer? A prayer that will shift things? Pray this, “Change Me Lord, not the circumstance but ME.” Thats what I call a dangerous powerful prayer.

Okay, so next is the fourth insert, Praise section. I love this section because I write all the truths of who He is, how faithful, enduring, grace giving, loving He is. He is worthy to be praised. I write my answered prayers in this too. I like to date it of when He answered my prayer(s). Looking back on those times he answered and brought us through makes you tear, just so joyful knowing how wonderful and true He is. Its a section of gratitude. To always be grateful and thankful.

Fifth insert is the section I call, Dream section. I write out my dreams He gives me, even what he speaks or words. I never use to write them until I started getting more and more dreams He has given me. They help me with the next season I’m about to face. Its amazing to write them down and go back and just see what he showed you… He gave us a dream one time, a dream of me being pregnant adding our third child. I laughed and thought it was funny. Even though we prayed for another child, at the time I was having difficulty conceiving so we prayed, used essential oils (read our story here) and three months passed…. we conceived a child. It truly is a time to tear up… not sad tears but tears of just in awe. This section can be of your choice, this is just a new section I added and felt I needed to add in my war binder. The last section is called MORE and I named that just to add extra of what I may need… Music that speaks to my heart, books that inspired me, devotionals that led me to where I am now, etc.

Of course, yours can be setup however you’d like to have it. This is what works best for me. Some add Sermon Notes, Journaling, Devotionals, Book Titles/Songs, Calendars…. Its all on your preference. I sure hope this helps you and fires you up wanting to start a war binder and begin a battle plan. After all, we are at spiritual battles and its time to suit up and put on our Armor of God, Ephesians 6:10-20. How will you fight your battles? In fear or with scripture? With joy or with sorrow? Or with a strategic battle plan, with your armor, with the war binder you are now rushing to the store to setup?

Feel free to email if you have any questions, I’d love to see how you setup yours.
