Day 6 – Faith Over Fear
Having faith and kicking fear out
God didn’t give us a spirit of fear. (2 Timothy 1:7) Do you remember the story of the Disciples on the boat and the storm raging in? Matthew 14:22-33. I remember hearing this story thinking oh my goodness I would’ve panicked. Clearly I didn’t get the picture at the time. See lets read that story and come back to this devotional.
They let fear get a hold of them. Through the storm they went through. They lacked faith. We need faith to hang on. Let go of fear and cling onto faith dear friend. Jesus is right there where you are at right now. That fear needs to be gone and released to Jesus today.
I remember going through a tough time, a time I thought I would never see sunshine again. It seemed so dark and gloomy. My mother and I had a horrible relationship. It was broken and it hurt dearly. I remember blocking her out thinking it’ll be better that way. Clearly it was not. I continued to pray over the situation using Gods word holding onto faith knowing it will be restored and letting go of fear (feeling I was going to lose her anytime and never have a mom again). As I began rethinking, rewriting in my DNA (hint hint first lesson) using Gods words to pray I saw a huge transformation in our relationship. It bloomed so beautifully I can’t begin to express how wonderful it is.
If you are going through something tough, don’t quit, don’t stop, hold onto faith and let go of fear. Let Jesus’ right hand hold your right hand.
Reflect: Pray for faith friend. Pray for stronger faith and for fear to be removed. Pray to hang tight onto that rope and never let go.
Verse: Matthew 14:22-33, 2 Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 35:4, Matthew 6:34
Question: What can you do today to heal? To be restored? To let go of what needs to be gone?
